Printing tomorrow- this is surreal!
So excited that I'm finally done both English and Deitsch versions of the layouts! I can't wait to drop it off to be printed and order copies on Blurb!
Thank you all for your help and constructive criticism during class- it pushed the work so much further than I could have gone on my own :)

Belsnickel layout complete!
Early on in my research about creating characters- I read that it is very important to design and show your characters from different angles. It would have certainly been easier to just show Penny Olive from the front, however adding her from behind and profile added richness and depth to her character and the story. Happy that I took the time and challenge :)

Granny Fisher
I finished the details of Granny Fisher (my great-grandmother) and I can't stop tearing up looking at her and feeling her presence during this project. It's so exciting to preserve her beauty and talent in this book.

Tweaked layouts
Thanks for the feedback Professor Meloney! Here are some tweaked layouts!

Crafts spread
Still have a few things to change, got a few contemporary PA Dutch craftspeople to contribute their work to this spread which is very nice. I love the fabric as grass. Wasn't sure if I should do the same with the barn (fabric) thoughts? By the way, it's not easy turning Penny Olive around- took about 3 hours to design her from the back. I have a new appreciation for what illustrators do!
