last illustration!!!!!!!!!!
Since the book is now in both English and Deitsch (PA Dutch) it will be a Dos-Ã -dos binding and this will be the middle spread both endings to the book in either language. Loving this layout!! Rather thank cramming both languages in each spread, I felt this gave the text room to breath and the images as well.... it has been fun!

Enlisted a critique of my artist friends....
Since we didn't have class this week- I have been asking my artists friends and husband for feedback. They all voted this background. I know the layout cut Dad apart, but I kept his face on one side and I am really set on an offset family rather than centered. Also this illustration took me the longest (about 60 hours) so I don't want to resize to make smaller, here's what I got. Email me feedback if you have time. <3
Copyrighted Penny Olive
I just registered a copyright claim for Penny Olive!! Really exciting. Now I just have to waiting approximately 8 months for it to be process, lol!

Working on cover, presentation, and last layout!!!!
Some ideas..... Cover idea 1 Presentation

There was something missing....
I've been slightly irritated by Penny Olive's hair. I love the yarn- but felt that the curls were lost. Found this perfectly spirl curly yarn at AcMoore and am just loving it!!! This is more like what I imaged she'd look like :) I just have to test print the super close up shot and see how the newer hair holds up....

Finally tweaking of layouts and type.... the end is in sight!!!!!!! So excited!!!!!
Working all weekend to finish the layout and get a test print early next week :) © 2015 Rachel Yoder Art

Some low-res screen shots of working designs
A few previews- some have multiple background options. I am loving the font! Finally found one I love! Still considering hand-lettering ??!! Feeling like I'm over the design hump and it's smooth sailing from here to printing :) Rachel Yoder Art © 2015
