I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1981. I began creating art before I could talk! I have always loved creating! I am an active folk artist specializing in contemporary interpretations of PA Dutch fraktur style paintings and folkloric creatures. I am also an art teacher. I received my BS in Art Education from Tyler School of Art in 2011. Upon graduation I spent three years teaching art in the inner city of Philadelphia before deciding to return (home) to the Oley Valley (Berks County), where I have deep Pennsylvania Dutch roots in the Fisher and Deturk families.  I also wanted to be closer to the palpable Pennsylvania Dutch culture and heritage of this area.  I received my MFA in Communication Design at Kutztown University in May 2018.

I have exhibited at Tyler School of Art, Kutztown University and Clay on Main gallery. I wrote and illustrated my first bilingual children's books, Penny Olive, in December 2015 and my second, Davey Applebutter (written by Douglas J. Madenford), in 2018. Both books were written to engage young people and help preserve Pennsylvania Dutch culture. I was honored as Hiwwe wie Driwwe's PA Dutch Artist of the Year 2016. My work has been featured in Hiwwe wie Driwwe, Deitsch, Berks Country Magazine/Reading Eagle Newspaper, Berks County Living magazine, Side Arts, and reviewed in The Philadelphia Inquirer.

I live and work in Berks County, Pennsylvania with my husband and three children.
